hole in my CAI...

hole in my CAI...

hey guys have a quick question i have a 08 coupe with stillen 3rd gen CAI and it got small holes from rubbing on the second pipes.. (pics up soon) now my check engine light when on and my engine is not that quiet smooth like it was before. could this be due to that? or its something else?

Yeah it is more than likely because of that. Throw some JB Weld on it and let it sit for a bit.
Holes in the intake piping can cause the air sucked in through the filter, escape through the holes.
Really want to see pictures of this as I have the same intake.

Ohhhh man. That's bad news bears right there. I bought some rubber hose and split it down the middle and put it on those spots... Like I said though JB weld it and then pad it up.

i put some padding on mine to make sure it woulnt rub on anything...you could have sucked in some metal shaving in through the throttle body. i would it it off and blow them out and clean it and seal it

home depot sells some padding you can put by the metal there. it's typical of that part rubbing.

you or whoever installed it should of done a better job. if you installed it you can see that could cause a problem, too late and yes it can affect ur engine
