Will the dealer give me a hard time about Gen 3?
Will the dealer give me a hard time about Gen 3?
Really thinking about getting Gen 3 intakes and a tune to go with it and my FI catback, as it will really wake the car up and put some new life into it. I was wondering what anybody's experience with cold air intakes and dealer service is? Do they tend to give you a hard time about it generally, or are they cool? I'm actually a little paranoid to the extent that I might take off my grounding wires before making a warranty claim.
Thanks.
Thanks.
they cannot deny you any warranty work unless there is an issue that is a proven result of the mod you have.
so if there is any problem with that G that is unrelated to the intake, they can't blame it. if there is a problem related to the intake but they cant show that the Gen3 caused it, they cant deny work.
if somehow the Gen3 causes a problem, then they can deny you work, but I have never had that happen ever. the Gen3 doesn't cause any problems that you have to worry about it

I had injen CAI on my g35 and the dealer never gave me a hard time... only bad thing was they tried to charge me for a filter replacement on their standard 15k service until i pointed out that they didn't change my aftermarket filter.
As long as you don't park in a deep puddle and suck water into the engine, you will be fine!

OP - Have had Injen CAI on for at least the last 2-3 trips to the dealer and nothing was ever said..
You are good to go.. Re-mapping the ecu however, that's a whole different story.. (i think)

exactly.. the answer to your question is MAYBE. for me that answer is enough to deter me from doing it because i don't want to get hassled. my dealership is especially annoying about these kinds of mods and will break your ***** about it.
doesnt it only matter if it affects the warranty?? what do the people at the infiniti dealship have to do with it? is a sales guy or the manager going to say something? i dont get it, if something goes wrong with your car then yeah, they can look at it and see if it caused the problem, otherwise u just need to abide by what is in your agreement if you leased the car, but if you bought it you should be going by what the warranty states.

Time for you to go to different dealer.... I would tell them straight out, you realize even for warranty work the dealerships get reimbursed by Infiniti corp for the work, parts & labor... by hassling you they are actually losing business.
