QUITE Raspy. I liked it before the cats but if i can keep all the parts i want ide like to. If not i guess i can give up the cats. I'm between 2, the Stillen and the MXP, the MXP is really at the top of my price range but on the vid's it sounds a little raspy still as does the stillen really, less than the Invidia atleast.

My questions for my fellow G drivers are:

Who has Berks HFC's and an exhaust that doesnt rasp?

Which exhaust is this one?

Is it possible to not have rasp on aftermarket or am i in a dreamworld with this thought?

Is anyone in the Suffolk County, Long Island Area willing to let me hear theres haha

I do appreciate any input
I used to have Fast Intentions HFCs that I ran with Fast Intentions exhaust, then later with GReddy Spectrum Elite exhaust. It pretty aggressive with Fast Intentions and smoother and more subtle (w/ no rasp) with the GReddy.

1. I had Berk HFC with Fast Intentions CBE.. had 0 rasp, but had a little drone on the freeway. Sounded great otherwise.

2. Yes it is very possible to have rasp on aftermarket exhausts depending what material is used for the piping... I have a little bit of rasp with and with out HFC on my MXP exhaust.

I guess I really need to hear these in person to make my final decision. I like the way they pretty much all sound online and every exhaust has a unique tone. I suppose ill hit the meet on Wednesday and hope for a lot of people!

its all about the design and diameter of the pipe.

and for ur information, all GT-R R35 after market/OEM exhaust uses Y pipe..
Just about every car with a V engine will always benefit from a true dual exhaust, whether is H pipe or X pipe. Both the H and X pipe do help the exhaust scavenging process much better than a Y pipe. And when it comes to exhaust flow, that's a good thing. Although performance gains of both the X and H are debatable, the sound advantages aren't. A properly designed Y pipe (something OEM doesn't care much about since cost is the #1 priority) can flow almost as good as a X or H pipe. But everything being equal, the X and H will always flow better than a Y pipe, and have a much better sound to boot. But like all exhausts, it must be designed properly or the whole point is moot.

I don't know much about the GTR but my guess is that maybe it's impossible to fit an X or H pipe on the RIGHT location. Otherwise I'm pretty sure the aftermarket would design a true dual for it.

^ on that note, i was under the impression a true dual was the best set up for our cars. how ever doing a little research there seems to be little difference between most of them true, x, y, h, in terms of power, a few horse at that.

also, i looked at the stillen, which has a model specifically designed to fit the X Coupe, it has a Y, no problem though, has anyone had experience with the stillen? i trust stillens numbers to an extent im just mainly curious about the sound. Numbers arent my main concern anyway.

and i checked out the Greddy Spectrum Elite, whats the deal with that? mid pipe back? or what ever?

and lastly i looked at the Gemini today, i actually spoke to someone about its fitment and i told him i have a Q300 on my X coupe now, he was astounded that it fit with out modification. I'm pretty sure the shop didnt do any modifying to the exhaust, i paid basic installation nothing special. I'm going to take some pics of the underside to send to him so he can see. He offered to hook me up with a Gemini if he can figure out if it fits from my pics cuz they didnt know haha

i'll be honest, as far as the look goes, i like polished or burnt tip appearance, they both look awesome. how ever i like the somewhat "stock" appearance of certain mufflers from the back, like the invidia or the stillen. no so much like the ark or the FI. no offense, i just think it looks funny. althought you definately know the cars modded from an exhaust like that

after all my thought and consideration i think ive decided to go with the stillen exhaust. I will probably be ordering it next week and i'll let you all know how it sounds when its done. Thanks for all the input everyone.

On a side note, i may be switching to an S at the end of the year, so i'll keep that ARK exhaust in mind for that!

not to be the downer to the, maybe 2 people watching this thread haha, but i decided to keep my invidia and just take the HFC's out. Its too much of an investment for me right now since i'm driving from NY to NC in a week and a half for 10 days. I'm gonna hold on to the cats and when i "hopefully" get my S at the end of this year beginning of next year, i'll slap those on and get a diff exhaust since everything fits the X. Thanks for all the input guys
