Is the general consensus that the R2C without a tune is a great intake to install (for SRI)?

I was about to pull the trigger on an R2C until this thread. Although very informative, it has muddied the waters in my intake decision.

Thanks.

I have a R2C in route, I was going to go with Stillen but didn't want to cut through the plastic support piece...I think the R2C will do me just fine, I will see if my local speed shop can get me on the dyno and I will post the results...

They are both great intakes. While the R2c doesn't have the gains (for me) that the Stillen does, the installation/maintenance isn't as involved.

Get a tune.. gained 15+Hp almost over the entire band bringing AFR up from 10's to 12.6. You WILL feel the difference.

I'll be getting a tune eventually. The problem is, the only guys I'd trust to do this only have access to a 2WD dyno at the moment, so I'll probably be waiting for quite awhile.

If only it were feasible to do dyno comparisons for both intakes... I am not going that far. lol

I honestly still think the Stillen would do better even post-tune. The differences (on paper) I saw without any kind of tune were very significant... so much so, that I'm not sure a tune would level the playing field all that much.

I still have some serious thinking to do regarding which system I will keep. At this point, it depends on how the Stillen's look after being powder coated satin black. Hopefully I'll get them back next week.

Very nice. You'll have the same set up that I had when I tuned ... Except in sedan version.

I'm i'n the same boat ^ I'm not cutting through my plastic inlets and with the $$$ you save on going w R2C instead of Stillen! Put it toward a Tune. And yes i love the look of these under the hood R2C did a great job Witt this design , super clean...

It's kinda funny that even though the Stillen is producing more power ... A lot of people are still going with the R2C ... I just find that interesting and I am not trying to sway peoples vote one way or another ... Both are great intakes.

I guess more power isn't alway everything to real world drivers. LOL
