Megan Racing axleback with HFC's or Tanabe axleback with HFC's

Hey guys need some opinions..I'm looking at doing either the tanabe axleback or megan racing axleback with HFC's. I'm wondering if anyone has heard both. I heard some clips of the tanabe with Berk HFC's and I really liked the sound. But I would really like to hear the Megan Racing axleback with the HFC's. Any opinions out there??

Here is the G37 with the Tanabe and Berk HFC's. Everything else is stock. I love the sound.

And this is all I could find. It's an EX35 with the Megan Axle back for the G37 and Berk HFC's

The setup with Megan Racing and Berk HFC's would cost me about $900 shipped and the Tanabe Medallion with Berk HFC's would cost me about $1100 shipped. I'm purely looking for sound. I really like the way both sound..damn these decisions. So hard to decide without ever hearing either setup in person.

it was a joke.. people used to put water in glass pack mufflers because it made them louder, old muscle car trick. i might be a lil biased here because i have the tanabe system and "personally" think it sounds/looks better than the megan. i had a chance to get that exhaust aswell and turned it down...... i dont know how the megan sounds down the line, but i can personally tell you i've had the tanabe axleback since it was prototyped and a year later i still have a wonderful sound! i now have the full exhaust and it sounds even better... i dont know what materials megan uses... but my tanabe mufflers have yet to rust, discolor, or lose tone. all things you might want to think about with only a $200 dollar difference. Yes I do understand you are only interested in sound, but looks/ a product lasting should be up there aswell.

So you've heard the Megan as well. How would you describe the differences between the two in sound?

to me personally in person megan was louder and higher pitch like greddys. but i think exhaust notes are like music, some love them some hate them. all i can tell you is if you search this site and ***** there are a lot more members with the tanabes who are 100% happy with sound/looks/performance/ and price. I have not personally seen too many megan reviews.

hey OP i had both the Megan and currently have tanabe right now.

Megan was awesome. i would def go for it agian if it had dual canisters... idk why people hate on megan so much but i loved it. It used to pop when id let off the gas whcih i loved. and it sounded like 1.5x louder or maybe 2x louder than stock and have the same tone.....

About the same as my tanabes. i have the tanabes with a Y pipe now. I wanna hear how it would sound with the megan.. i wished the tanabes had Ti tips though. just pm me if you wanna know more because im prolly not gonna chekc this thread out anymore hahaha

why not get a full catback with hfc's?
I mean personally would not spend that kind of $$ for any axle back.

In the long run I would go with tanabe... tested and proven. Plus quality is great. No beef with the other guys. But from my experience I would go tanabe...

Sounds like everyone really likes the Tanabe's over the Megan Racing axle backs. I think I'm going to start with the Tanabe's and the FI HFC's. Think that combo will sound great. Then eventually add the Y-pipe
