why are exhaust systems so freakin expensive for our cars?
I wish I could but as a college student I'd feel terrible about saving up a ton of cash to spend on my car when I really need it for other things
just get some test pipes, or resonated pipes and call it a day since your in college. You will have to swap them out to get inspected and smoged but they are relatively cheap and will offer the increase in sound and performance your looking for.
I'd rather go with hfc's but they're too raspy...
Get a used axle back. Tanabe one goes for about 550 on the forum.

I have this '96 Maxima. Parts are cheaper for it than for my '08 G37. Why is that? They're both cars right? How come the parts on one of them costs more than the parts for the other one? Shouldn't all car parts cost about the same?
Pick up a used system from a board member or go to a shop and just get the muffler swapped out. The Fast intentions system is using a magnaflow muffler that Im sure can be had on the cheap.
There are ways to get it done without spending $2k.

My advice, grab a used CBE from the forum, or get tanabe axel back, many are pleased with the way it sounds.
And I do agree exhausts are expensive for this car. ... I'm on my second one already. Lol. :-/
The new ones must be different from mine then. 100% sure the big center can has Magnaflow stamped on it. The after Axle cans are CF and I think Tony said he made them in house.
