I started thinking that I should get a pair of HFCs for my sedan.

Hi...i just put on a FI HFC (used HFC) on a 2010 G37S sedan and when pulling hard it give off raspy sounds. When shift it sound like metal to metal contact. and when corner hard it also sound like metal to metal grinding. Is this normal?

raspy sound is normal on stock exhaust


metal on metal is what we everyone refers to as hisssing sound, thats also normal.

Yeah, when you get on it with HFCs, you do get a rasp. It's mildly annoying in my mind. Now, the hiss I oddly like...

It does sound good! but HFC in Cali are pretty much illegal, I bought one for my SE-R & got every excuse for installing it!

 

the pig...I mean cop are not going to know if you have an HFC unless you have a full blown race car advertising on the outside (exterior). hehehe...Cops are my friends....ahem!!!

Put the stock cats on. HFC are just raspy.

 

So the only way for it not to sound raspy is the stock Cat? Is there any other way to get rid of the rasp?

change up your resonator to a larger one. it will help reduce the rasp. or go larger mid pipe.

 

Add a full catback exhaust.
