I'm a new member and lovin my '08 g37S. I stole it for $30,900 w/ 3300 miles w/ paddles. I'm looking for the quietest exhaust available. (I'm 58 and not looking for attention just performance and a little growl.) I was lucky to get a ride in a 37X coupe with a magnaflow. The owner liked it a lot but said the drone around 1500-2000 rpm bugged him a little. He said it wasn't annoying enough to remove it. After riding around with him for 15 or 20 minutes I agreed so I'm still investigating. What other systems should I consider?

Also does the dealer offer a sun shade? I need some protection from the sun that looks decent.

I have the Tanabe Medallions. They're about as quiet as an aftermarket exhaust will get. However, they're axle-backs.

Are you specifically looking for full catback? If that's the case, then you might want to try an Invidia Q300 for starters.

 

If you are looking for quiet? In an aftermarket exhaust??? Why not just leave it stock and save money. The G already has a decent exhaust note. Any equal sounding aftermarket exhaust would be a total waste of money. Why not just invest in a tune.

 

I know a lot of people don't like the Magnaflow system or the sound it makes, But I put a Magnaflow Cat back on my 08 and the growl is perfect. I'm 61 and was not looking for a lot of noise, but I am very pleased with the system.

 

Which Magnaflow? The OP already said he got a ride in a G37x coupe and didn't like that Magnaflow exhaust. Maybe yours is different.

Do you hear the drone low RPM drone with your system? I really like the sound of it other than the fews seconds I move through that RPM range. What model system do you have so I can check it out online?

I actually bought mine the same day I picked up the G (from autozone, nothing form fitted) and that was before Swat existed...I haven't seen the need to get a new one since the one I have works just fine, but if you are looking for a high quality form fitted one that is what I'd go with
