Is the cat the biggest bottleneck of the exhaust? I really dont feel like upgrading the whole ****ing exhaust system. 400 or 500 I can spend on a HFC. I wish cats didnt have ****ing platinum in them so they can be as cheap as test pipes.

Ha! You know now what to do, check out my threads and get a 3/4 inch drill bit!
Confirmed yesterday by the Infiniti dealer mechanics- it sounds great, not overpowering, not like anybody inflicted any damage, not like a broken exhaust. It simply has more presence, that's all. Don't tell anybody thou cause you will be accused of being a raicer who ghetto-fies your car. You can always patch it up and get another exhaust muffler. The problem is they are ALL too loud and if you have a lady in your life- she won't like it for sure. It's all about weighing out the benefits.

While your at it you might want to cut your springs to lower your car... are you kidding me man???? WTF!!! This is a $40.000+ car and your going to drill a hole in the exhaust? Now You Are RICE!

Do some research and search. The Berks HFC will give you power and will sound just like you want it. Then go get a tune to unleash some real power all for the cost of under $1,000 dollars.

Cats are definately one of the most if not MOST restrictive secions of the exhaust. You can Either go RTP or HFC but I recoment HFC since our stock exhaust can already be raspy as **** at times.

Cutting the springs is not the topic of this thread so please stay with the topic and make it interesting. If you haven't tried it do not be so abrupt to call names. Relax, let your imagination wonder.
As far as the price tag it is 3 times cheaper than what I drove every year and I love to be creative about my new car. Please read what the guys topic is and if you have anything to say to help him do so. He is asking for exactly what's written: More presence, that's all. Have you ever checked the DB's inside your car? Let's tell him more about the sound level in your car, how many decibels and what exhaust etc. If you drill the two holes where I showed you your cabin noise at idle goes up only 2 DB and during a hard acceleration it goes to 83db to level of at cruising speed to 68db. All those figures vary slightly depending on the surface you are on. The point is you can easily converse and listen to the music and it doesn't get on your nerves on a 300 mile trip. If the topic of the conversation would be different I would go with your recommendation of a louder exhaust. I don't think there is an aftermarket muffler with less than 100 db at the acceleration. But let the guys elaborate on the decibel levels with their particular setups. I am sure it will be a valuable information helping others to make a decision. Let's exchange the thoughts and information in a positive or humorous way without any name tags. A great argument always stimulates a conversation and such is the purpose of a good blog as this. Still your friend, loving my coupe, Greg. I will post the db readings at various rpms in some other time.
