Mackin MXP Catback Exhaust Installed

Just got her installed finally at Motorwerks in Commerce Twp (Metro Detroit). These guys are great by the way - 9 out of 10 cars they work on are premium imports and project domestics! The tips/fitment is great as the exhaust was designed initially on an M/T vehicle and the underbody was very friendly to the placement.

First of all, I wanna say thanks to ANDY @ HPAutoworks. Andy was a stand up seller and he gave me a great price on this exhaust kit. I even won the NCAA "predict the winner" promo. That, combined with a great deal to boot, it's safe for me to say that I got a smoking deal that I was very comfortable with. He got the kit just like the other vendors did - all the kits came on the same ship - so no worries there. He shipped it to me on a Monday from West coast and got it in Detroit by Friday. Props to you for being a good vendor to me, Andy. You're like family now. LOL.

The exhaust sounds great. I am still waiting for it to "break in" as I have only driven about 50-75 miles on it. It sounds very Euro/M3'ish to me. Not exactly like that but similar. Coming from Tanabe I feel I strayed from JDM to EDM a little bit in terms of tone. It sounds way more aggressive and mean. Nice thing is when crusing in 6th gear on the highway it's so quiet there's no hum/drone in the vehicle. It screams at the high end and is pretty refined. I would say that it's not for EVERYONE - and I still need to get used to it as it has much less "bass" than my Tanabe axleback. The butt dyno has my car feeling more powerful that's for sure. I can feel the added pull around 4.5-6.5 RPMs and I am pretty sure the 13ish claimed whp that Lou had posted up is legit. Of course an actual dyno would be nice but I have no stock base to go off of.

Here are some pics and video.

Loaded it in our crap Sienna for the twisty ride through poshy Oakland County to Motorwerks! Thx to my g/f 4 driving the van & waiting w/me 4 the install!

Pretty sweet pic of the inside of Motorwerks. Nice place. Millionnaires and isht come here so I'm lucky they let my **** in, haha!

It sounds different in person - and it's going to take me some time to get over my Tanabe - I really did love the Tanabe tone. This MXP is nice though it does sound distinguished - it sounds really powerful - and I feel the pull too. It's good craftsmanship (for us MTers for now and soon ATers) too. The no drone and silent when cruising is nice too. It has a real "could be stock tone on an m3" type sound (but louder, screams more). That's just my opinion.

Guys it's actually not as loud in person, like it screams at high end RPMs but at low RPMs it just coasts pretty subtle. The camera is misleading it has some wicked sound distortion and the majority of the video was at 4-7RPMs lol.
Also it has virtually no drone when just crusing in 5th and 6th.
