Tanabe exhaust is very easy. The y-pipe may not. Unless you have a lift, it is best to have a shop to do the y-pipe as it is a bit tight to get to the bolts using jacks. Be careful with the nuts that are a bit fragile.

I have both of these exact mods. I installed them both my self with the help of a friend. Tanabe is very easy, did it without a jack. Hardest part was getting the old bolts loose. Y Pipe is a little more difficult but not too hard. You definatly need a jack and jack stands. I went and bought some from advanced autoparts for like 60 bucks. Once its jacked up you just unbolt the old and put in the new. Again the hardest part was probably getting the old bolts off. Just get some bolt buster spray and soak them good, then i got about a foot long piece of steal tube for a breaker bar and they came loose. After that the new y pipe just goes right in.

Smile Tanabe and Ichiba Y pipe intalled today

Had the Tanabe exaust and Ichiba Y Pipe installed this morning. Love It! The sound now seems more exotic than the stock exaust, a little louder; probably attracts more attention, especally under heavy load and downshifts.I had a few 60"s muscle cars in the past and they attracted attention from the cops due to exaust sound and speed. Performance of my G seems slightily improved, lets face it the car runs as stock! My big block 68 Olds 442 ran in the high 14 teens and the G runs stock in the middle to high 13 teens.I am very pleased at the performance and handling of the G 37.I will definately trade up in 4-5 years for the next model,400 hp small block V8, I hope.
