Wouldn't the Tanabe (axle-back) + a y-pipe make up a full cat-back?

Seems like a good deal to me.

Almost. You would still have the stock mid pipe and as of right now there are not any aftermarket ones out yet.

FWIW, I've bought pats from that vendor at least twice before for different cars and had no problems.

I had the Tanabe and it was most excellent.

Yea the price is legit, Tanabe had a sale awhile back so many people stocked up on them. I would prob get the Ichiba Y-pipe vs the ED Y-pipe. Based on where you live, the ED may rust on you over time.

Mines up for sale also, but not at that good of price.

And yeah, the Tanabe exhaust is probably one of the simpliest exhausts to install, I did mine with ramps. But other's have done it without anything to lift up the back end.

If you get Tanabe (500 now), plus a y pipe (250-300) plus a custom mid pipe (runs 100-150) that equals a full cat back and maybe cheaper...

Just get the one on ebay or the one Graham has for sale then buy the ichiba y pipe from HPA then have a custom mid pipe done. Then you will have a full catback and could end up spending less maybe. This is probably what i will end up doing. Gonna get the Y pipe next.
