did you feel any power gain/loss, I'm guessing you lost a little torque, and I believe that the Y pipe is there to even out back pressure. So does it feel better?

I would get a piece put in the middle to make some type of H or X pipe. I went the same route with my exhaust when i deleted the Y. I had some nasty vibrations and the car felt odd at certain rpms. I did some research and found that the exhaust gases need to be balanced on both sides of the engine and an H or x pipe would give this. I had a piece put in the next day and the vibrations were gone and the car felt much better throughout the entire rpm band.

The 2 black rubber ***** with white dots at the bottom of the pic are what absorb any vibration.

Mine felt the same before i had the H section put in. After that the car felt much smoother and there was a definite improvement in performance after the piece was put between the two

Well i think what i was actually feeling was the unbalanced exhaust pulses. May be strictly coincidence but once i had the middle section added the vibration went away. May be that it just was more secure, but the main thing is that the performance felt much better with the peice in the middle than it did without it.
