UR crank pulley

these seem to be off the radar for a while. I mean, if there are gains everyone should have jumped on it. Could anyone that have them share some info? are dyno's availble yet?

MaxToTheG37 just got it installed and reviewed it, you'd have to look for this tread. I think he gained 6hp or something.

They give very minimal gains for the money and trouble of install but they do reduce weight as well.

I had it on my g35, my tuner thought it was a piece of shiet and worthless, I believe the OEM crank is more stronger and reliable than that aluminum shiet, when I went boosted I was suggested to replace that crank pulley for safety sakes of the crank, I replaced it with an ATI Damper pulley Cost a bit of $$$$ tho ahaha

I feel that if you are looking for more HP than you should go ahead and get the pulley... they will definitely NOT lose power... and I feel this mod works with other mods and just increases throttle response... as for the dyno... I didnt do the pulley indivually but we will see when time goes on.... I had good results on my VQ35 maxima... I say go for it...

the pulley adds .2 horsepower. oem pulleys are made with rubber insides which are meant to dampen the vibrations from the crank. the UR pulley isnt doing any of that. no damage will happen any time soon, but over time the small vibrations are good enuff to crack the oil pump gears if they are crank driven.

^^ nicely said...thats why they wanted me to change it, especially when I went boosted.

I bought the full kit for my g35 and have to admitt I felt a difference when I was NA, but dunno if it was placebo or not haha.

i checked it out yesturday and it doesnt seem that it has a rubber insert like some of the other pulleys. I could be wrong cause the angle was kind of hard to see.

So i guess there are no dyno availble.. maybe i will try to find out.

These have been tested so many times ... They do not make power !!! There is threads on this for our engine and links to a 350Z member with the 3.5 HR engine and he did a dyno and no power .. I had these on my 06 350z and did a dyno ..... No HP !!! A complete waste of money !!!!

I've heard so many mixed reviews on these. I've heard that our crank shaftsd are balanced internally so no need for a dampener... I'dunno I've been on the fence about these since I had my G35 C goign back and forth about whether or not to try this out.

So Neverbonestock, did you even feel a difference in throttle response at all?
