The noise doesn't become as noticeable when the car is warm however,
it has nothing to do with the VVEL. It's just the extra flow of exhaust

The whole point of this thread was to tell people what it is. Read my friend and you will learn.

My hypothesis is that more weight needs to be added to the existing counter weights on the stock Y-pipe. That pipe shaking is making that odd noise (watch the video)

As of now, i don't know anyone that has eliminated the noise. Just be careful removing the stock cats. One bolt on both of my cats broke. A lot of people have had this problem.

I've read the whole thread, there isn't a concenses of what is making the noise. I mean if there was it should be a fix already right? My bet it's the counter weights making the noise but who knows, it's possible thats how the air flows through the HFCs making the noise.

I've said what is making the noise plenty of times. Look at post 68 very carefully, you can see the pipe shake making the weird noise. A combination of higher exhaust flow and thinner metal in the aftermarket exhaust and lack of counterweights help aid in the production of the noise. Look at post 45.

As far as i know their is no fix yet. Most people just deal with the noise or most of use don't have the time or money to do trial and error with the exhaust. If you get any ideas post them up.

The video in post 68 is my car with berk HFC's and a "full" catback magnaflow exhaust.

Alright thanks dude. Just that I know people with FI and I think BB with his Invida catbacks don't have this sound.
