Pretty cool when you think about it, all the advantages of a SRI, none of the disadvantages of a traditional CAI for the G37.. ie long tubes, difficult installs and maintance, exposed filters... man I should be in their marketing department
Red-

You should be in their marketing dept! You've got everyone playing in concert! Are you opting for black, non-polished, or high polished finsh on the tubing? It won't make any significant difference, however, since black absorbs more heat, I am debating between non-polished and high polished. I think I am leaning more toward the high polished primarily for aesthetics and it's more reflective.

Yea, tough decision... it was either black or high polish and I decided on high Polish to give it more of an aftermarket look. Black would make those ginormous white filters stand out more which is also cool. Since I didn't get the option when ordering I contacted Ed and he said he was going to oversee my entire transaction, very cool. Ed btw is the VP of R2C.

I think ill go with black so the filters stand out more, while the surronding engine bay looks stock, personally for ME, if i get polished tubes then i would want them to run completely from the engine to the filters, i just dont lik ethe half rubber and half polished look, however ill reserve my final decison until i see real pics of the polished intake... where is the 350z guy with the vids and pics!!!!

In the production release, you can see even more details of the design! It looks like the intake tubing attaches to the back of the heat shield, instead of forming the venturi stack at the end of the tubing. So, the heat shield and the venturi stack are a single component or the venturi stack is positioned within the filter side of the heat shield. In either case, the venturi stack is composed of polyurethane or some type of plastic which helps minimize some of the heat transfer from the engine bay back into the filter area that would be seen, if the venturi stack were entirely metal!

Thanks Tom, after seeing this I changed my order to Black.. I think that will mesh better with the whole intake.

I'm guessing the open slots at the bottom of the heat shields are to allow cool air into the engine bay creating a flow in that direction to prevent the reverse from happening. Interesting they didn't put left side shield on the passenger heat shield, it looks like there's room, athought the reservoir and other components there probably form enough of a wall. Love the way these filters look, looks like something you'd see on a helicopter..lol.

The farther up front the venturi is from the back of the heat shield the cooler the air will be so yea looks to be plenty far up front. Man I feel like I'm waiting for a mail order bride, can't wait for these to get in.

That's good to know about the venturi stack. I'm with you, Red! If feel like a kid looking at a stack of presents under the tree, two weeks before Christmas!
