My Official Injen Review**PICS (VIDS LATER)**

I figured since their is really no threads about the Injens, i would write one (sense the sarcasm)...
The install took about an hour and 20 minutes and i would rank it a 5 in difficulty, between 1-10. The tech said its the highest quality intake he has ever seen and i agree. Everything fit great. i don't personally care about the loss of washer fluid.
After installation i can see the reasons why the filters seem like they will get hardly any air...but its still better then a WAI.We didnt remove the bumper either like most of us here. I am currently working on a replacement piece for the front fake grills to direct some air to the filters.
So far so good....
Ok all finished and reset the ECU of course and then took her for a spin. At first stayed below 4000 rpms and didnt push it. At stopped acceleration you can definitely hear that classic intake "gulp". I cant feel any loss in power at low RPM's and it has a nice low growl up to 4500 RPMs. Pushed it alittle harder and you can hear it even more pronounced...very nice...THEN push it over 5500 RPMS and WOW ! These things roar. Push it to redline and you will have drivers looking and wondering what the hell is that. The engine just wants to go! I can feel a nice improvement on the high RPM side...but the sound alone is awesome.
Took a nice drive returned back and you can cook an egg on the tubes....but i guess thats expected. And i see no solution to that issue at all. Oh well. So over all im completely happy and impressed. I didnt dyno nor will i be dynoing...i really dont care...im not tracking the car or going for any record gains. Honestly i can care less if it make 2 WHP...its LOOKS and SOUNDS the money i spent on it. I swear when i hit....i have people staring!
I was gonna do a nice long photo shoot but i didnt have the time...so here are some pics after install and a nice bath....
that damn front plate is killing me. I ordered bumper plugs from www.bumperplugs.com and i got them but didht have a 1/4" drill bit to drill out the dealer drilled holes! oh well for now.
So here they are

Videos will be up when i can get some time

The solution for the hot tubes would be put heat sheilding sleeves over the piping. But then you lost the cool look of stainless pipes under the hood. You can trade looks for maybe some cooler temps.

Sweet!!! Funny you mention the hot pipes, try driving for a longer time and then touch them... You'll be surprised how cool they are... I drive around town and they seem hotter when you drive in short distances for some reason... No need for heat wrap IMO... I would just use those on my headers if anything...

Congrats on the purchase. Nothing like that sound when it approaches redline. For just an intake, its insane to say the least.

I installed the injen intake last weekend, but barely reset the ecu today. I dont know if its just me but the car feels A LOT faster after i did the ecu reset.

and yeah, after about 5k rpm it sounds like a beast, haha
