Tanabe Y-Pipe and Medallion Touring Exhaust Installed!!! (Now with Video!!!)

Received my Tanabe Y-Pipe and Medallion Touring exhaust yesterday from Lou at Amplified Motorsport. Thanks Lou, you always provide the best customer service Install was pretty simple, would have been simpler if my friend and I had a lift we could use. The car sounds REALLY DEEP, and is a lot louder than the vids that are posted. Definitely something you need to hear in person, but I guess that would pretty much go for any exhaust on the market right now. So far the butt dyno says there are some gains, the power seems to come quicker in the lower RPM range, and hits harder in the middle RPM range. Now I'm just waiting on the JWT Pop Charger, and I will be done with performance mods (maybe)

Here is a vid clip...

I really love the sound of the Tanabe exhaust! Congrats. If you can get a vid, I would like to hear the difference in sound with the Y pipe.

I bet the extra low end punch is coming from the y-pipe.

Did you just get the Tanabe exhaust? If so, it should quiet down after a week/break in to be more refined.

I, too, would like to see a video. I love the axle back, maybe a y-pipe would compliment it nicely.

i dont think the y pipe would give u more low end power,
it gives a better high end power since it has more flow with bigger piping.

^Exactly. That's what I felt when I put on my JIC y-pipe.

Yeah, just got it yesterday and installed it.

It's just what the butt dyno is telling me, seems like the power comes sooner then later when I drive now.

I experienced just the opposite. Check out the dyno from the Exhaust Depot Y-pipe as well. Most of the power occured under the curve with it tapering off at peak.

Logically it would seem tha tbigger piping would equal less backpressure but appaarently it is getting it's backpressure further down the exhaust pipe somewhere.

^Correct. The y-pipe is more performance oriented.
