Injen Intakes Installed... pics & video...The unbiased TRUTH about the INJEN!!!
Thanks, Well let us know what injen has to say about it. Even if they do not have a solution then I am sure that something can be done about it. I will start looking in to this and see what I can figure out. I am sure I can put something together so that we can keep that sensor.
Wow, 6 hours for these. They're not Injen R&D either, but the installers at Amplified were able to do 2 of these installs in about 4 hours at the most. At they didn't even touch the system before they arrived at the shop, and they went the same route, not removing the front bumper.

Ok... Heres the deal... Im gettin tons of questions about the 6hr install on PMs...
Heres my time line...
Started at 4:00
I took my time going back and forth on removeing the bumper or not
around 6:00 I found the metal problem.
At 7:30 I started to fix the intake problem.
At 8:00 I was finished Macgyvering my problem.
at 8:45 I went across the street to go through a open house that i am buying.
at 9:30 and quadruple checked everything...
at 10 i was done...
I took my time... I was very carful and was taking pics during the install...
DOnt let me sayin it took 6hrs to install scare you away from this...
Its alot easier now that you dont have to remove the bumper...
as stated in the OP.
If your a car newbie then allow 5-6 hrs for your install...
if your good with cars.... and doin it by yourself...allow 3 hrs give or take a lil...
PEOPLE... DONT TRIP OUT OVER THE 6HR INSTALL TIME... GEEEZZZ!!!

Hey Max, what does your butt-dyno tell you about the power? I have the 5AT, and I feel that the car is slower now with the intake on. I heard that I'm suppose to reset the ECU for it to maximize the power. What do yall think?

Yes we have a shop and all the tools so we should be faster. But 6 hours? Im sure that has something to do with you taking pictures, issue with the MAF sensor location and talking 1 hour break in betweek each intake install....lol jk.
My advice to you when you asked me about advice on install, you don't have to remove the front bumper to install the intakes. We did it our way, from the fender undercover and it works does fine that way. Air ducts in my opinion only helps cool the engine bay so we left mine on. That would be the only reason to remove bumper if you want to remove air ducts. Now as far as the horn, only takes 5 mins to remove that and relocate if you choose to.
As far as the fluid level sensor, The hole was marked and they are giving you the option if you want to drill it yourself or not worry about it at all. Yes its nice to have that option working but according to Injen, Liability is greater if leaks accur so its up to the owner/installer to do so.
If anyone has issues with future install, feel free to call my shop or email me and i will assist you the best possible way to avoid any issues or if any problems, maybe we can help you resolve it them faster.
First Kit we installed(mine)
Less than 2 hours is all it took, even with the rubber and clamp issues(needed a big hawaiian guy to fit the rubbler hose) from the first batch which was corrected before i shipped out the first few. As for the MAF sensor problem, one kit had slight problem that we did but was were able to open it up with a hand file(took about 3 min) but the rest of them were fine. That being said, i already talked to Jerry at Injen about the issue and any future kits made or shipped will be double checked to make sure there is no more problems.
Yes i know we have a lift and air tools so yes we should be faster but if you do it yourself, it should double that time, if you have a shop do it for you, don't let them charge you more than 2 hour rate... otherwise you just got ripped off

Hopefully that helps and questions and doubts.
Lastly, i haven't had a chance to do any dyno.. but my butt dyno agrees with the rest of the guys... These babys make a difference

more than the previous short ram intakes i had

So Max, does the butt dyno tell you that it is getting you more than the HFCs gain, about the same, or less? After the HFC install on my I could definitely feel a difference so just want a comparison sine I know you have the same HFC as me.
