Cat Back plus HFCs = ???

I see that the high flow cats estimate about a 10 HP gain and various catback exhausts estimate 8-10 HP gain. If you install both do you think the gains are pretty much additive (18-20 HP)? It seems like they might be more than additive since the installation of one would mean the other is more of a bottleneck on the system.

I'm thinking of doing both and wondered what kind of gain I might expect.

I've been lurking on here for a long time and have been reading all of the posts in this section. I did place orders today for the Fast Intentions exhaust and the Berk high flow cats. Everybody that has received either product seems to be very pleased.

Next project is some wheels. My G is obsidian black. I'm thinking of maybe a black 5 spoke wheel. Kind of a similar look to Solo's. Think I will stay with 19s though.

What in the world. Please tell me you're kidding.

Gains are NOT additive/cumulative. Thats how ricers think their little Integras have 300 hp with nothing but n/a bolt-ons.

For instance, 8 on intake and 12 on exhaust from separate dynos do/will NOT yield 20 when you dyno them together on a car...you'll end up with something like 16.

^^Just dyno it to see what you get. JLai is correct for the most part but depending on the mod you will get different numbers. Sometimes it is possible to have bigger numbers then the combined HP/TQ of the two mods. Just dyno before and after to see what you get.

Reason I went with Berks was reviews on this board/videos, carb legal, price, and it looks like a good piece of equipment with a well known manufaturer (magnaflow). Not saying it's the best choice, but it's the one I decided to try.

I will probably dyno the car before and after. I am curious what the gains would be. I havn't stumbled across any before and after dynos with both mods done.

full exhaust and tp's are going to give you the most power gain but for most people HFC's with exhaust are going to be better for most people for everyday driving

True but its more of exhaust math..

Exaple: Headers 3-5HP HF Cats 6-9HP Exhaust 8-10HP

Add them up and you have 17-24HP in ricer land in real life 12-19HP more with a proper tune. Dyno's are mostly all solo part changes unless other wise noted. Do we have any HF Cat/Exhaust dyno's yet?

^^ Yeah I agree. I'm going to order the berks HFCs since they seem to be about 10HP according to their dyno and countless of guys here pretty much confirm it but I'm not sure about the exhaust. I might only see an additional 5HP with an exhaust, not sure if that's worth ~$1000 and risk it sounding like rice with HFC and exhaust. And it seems intakes do 0 HP so the HFC seems like the perfect first mod then exhaust but that requires careful research...

It doesnt work like that you cant just add up the hp rated numbers. And if anything headers would make the most gain.
