Apparently a young car enthusiast was attempting to improve performance and/or exhaust sounds on his new G37 Police say. Unfortunately the gap between his pipes and mufflers allow emissions to seap into the cabin apparently causing the driver to pass out while crusing down I90 and collide with on coming traffic. The resulting 22 car pile up was the worst seen in the state's history.

Angela Becket witnessed the pile up as the initial collision and resulting fireball caught her attention while having lunch on her patio. She immediately called 911. Fortunately the only fatality was the driver of the G37 who has yet to be identified. More to follow on page 27....

That's one hell of imagination! lol emissions to go into the cabin lol.

on another note, it is now safer to breath the emissions coming out of a new honda civic than to breath the air in California. (true story)

When i was waiting for my topsecret Ti exhaust to arive for my S2000 i had no exhaust on the car since no others would fit under my top secret rear diffusor. It sucked. stupid loud, i smelled like burnt fuel whenever i arrived no matter how short the drive and i always had a head ache from the fumes....

thats what it sounds like he did. caused a leak dropping back pressure so now he really has no low end power. should be gaining a little something on top end though....

i just removed the muffler. waiting on my customs to be built. it sounds very good, not overly loud like i had expected. low end is still there and gained alot in high end. its noticably faster. looks like trash but it sounds very good. my customs are just 2 universal mufflers that i ordered from magnaflow with 4.5 inch double walled tips. they are going to be slightly angled out. ive always used magnaflow and am always very happy with the result.

In the domestic world it's very common for guys to run long tube headers and true duals dumped at the axle with no muffler. Is that what happened here?

I did this on my G35... it unbolts in like 15 minutes and you don't even need a jack.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=eVvllFTXUUQ

try it out, you'll like it... and if you don't, hook them back up.

It sounds amazing... YouTube doesn't do it justice. It's dead quiet below 4k and there's no droning under decel or at highway speeds. It is really only noticeable if you go WOT. I've constructed a set of rear straight pipes I liked the sound so much.

Not loud at all... Pretty surprised. If you put some straight race pipes on there wouldnt be bad at all..
