AAM Test Pipes installed

i recently had custom test pipes made by altered atmosphere and installed them early Dec. i didn't get the chance to dyno my car before they were installed but AAM alread had a G37 that had about 400 miles on the dyno and it ran : 278.22 max HP and 234.21 max torque..
so i ran my car on the dyno ( it had bout 750 miles on it) with 2.5" AAM test pipes and it ran :
max hp: 294.43
max torque: 245.23

So you didn't dyno the same car before and after the installation fo the parts? Why compare the dyno of 2 different cars under different sets of circumstances?

Looks like a sweet gain, can you feel any difference with the extra torque?

I don't doubt it, one of the many mods I had on my 350z was test pipes.... It sounded great, (yes they were from aam, they are great there) but I don't think I'll ever have test pipes again on a daily driver... I swear it was making me sick from the fumes.

Sooooooooo, have you thrown a SES light yet? I got so sick of that light, one of the many reasons I decided to get a new G37S...

ya it was bout 25*.. and i felt bad for my lil bro.. he was sick and i made him breath in all that smoke lool.. o well.. so far ive driven over 1200 miles since i installed my test pipes and the check engine light come on for a couple days then it suddenly turned off.. it came on like twice after that but it only stays for like 20 mins and it goes away... so basically i havent seen that annoying light much which is a good thing :-)

the gain looks sweet no doubt but the sound is not my cup of tea - sounds o raspy/ricer - doesnt sound like a VQ V6 anymore....the sound lacks refinement and theres no rumble that the stock engine/exhaust made...

How have you been driving it though? I noticed it would be good and stay off in the Z, and when I would get on it a few times, it would come on shortly there after...

sounds like a cut resonator.. sounds decent but i dnt like high revs. but the power gains are very productive. and with intake and exhaust i personally think it would sound amazing it would give it more a finshed sound.

i agree with you on that.. i don't like the sound from the outside at all.. that is why im waiting on the exhaust it'll sound much much nicer along with the x- pipe..
