New G37 Sport Owner saying Hello

Hi All,

I just purchased a Blue Slate/Stone Interior G37 Sport with Premium and Nav packages.

My car is currently on a boat from Japan to the states so they have given me an Ivory G37 Journey with the Premium package while I wait.

I am enjoying the Journey a great dea but picking this car up on Monday was sort of bittersweet. It is a nice car and great to have a free loaner which only had 30 total miles when I received it.

However, I am really wanting my Blue Slate G37S! I am a MT type of guy.

Just to give some background, I have owned a variety of cars and my first car was a 280Z back in the early 80s. My last 2 cars were a 2000 S2000 and a 2004 RX-8 so I do like First Gen cars

Just wanted to say hello to all!

Dean

Congrats and Welcome. That was really nice of your dealer to give you a rental until yours comes in.

I thinkit is nice of the dealer but there are some more details. I had been talking to the Infinitii Dealership for a few months and I asked how long it would take to get the car I wanted in if I decided on Infintii. They said they could get it within 48 hours.

I had a lease expire and I went to them about 1.5 weeks before my lease expired and told them the car I wanted to buy. They said that could take 3-4 months. I was very mad about it. They knew I had a lease and that the car had to be turned in. They had promised me it would only take a couple of days.

Anyways, they knew it would be no sale if they didnt give me a loaner because of their actions.

Dont get me wrong. I am still very happy to get a 40k + car with 30 miles on it as a loaner and I think they made the situation right. Everyone makes mistakes.

As a lifelong straight drive lover, I have to say that the G37 is a pretty darn good car as an automoatic. The comuter control doesnt let you lose power while accelerating into a curve. I have found that the automatic works as good as the paddle controls which has never been my preference. I just keep the car in Auto for now.

Once I get the straight drive though, it will be a different story!

Thanks for all the wecomes!

One Newbie Question:

The trip computer has been innacurate and I assume it is learning as it appears to be more accurate on my 2nd tank of gas.

However, I calculated my gas mileage manually by dividing the number of miles traveled by the number of gallons put in and shows I got 15.8 mpg. This was mainly city driving and back road driving and testiing the car out a good bit.

Does the 16mpg sound about right for the first tank?

Thanks,
Dean

16 sounds a bit low but totally believable. I have over 14k miles now and I generally average around 22-23 mpg...

I got 14mpg at first and am not getting 15.5 mpg. Does that answer your question? I am trying to be kind though since they gvae me a brand new Journey for free with Premium.

My local Infiniti Dealer called today and said my car is in Brunswick, Ga which is the port where all the cars come in on and my G35S will be here on Wednesday or Thursday.

The loaner Journey is nice and all but I am really exicted to get my straight drive and in my color with the NAV and sports suspension!
