Another Amethyst Graphite Comes Home
I just got home from picking up my car. Unfortunately, I got to drive home in one hellacious thunderstorm. Traffic on the interstate was moving at about 30 mph!
Actually, that was plenty fast for me. I didn't feel like hydroplaning into a guard rail anyway. I'll get to play tomorrow.
I've been in the garage learning the nav system - super intuitive! It's my first car with a nav, and I'm breezing through the instructions.
I love this car -high quality interior materials and rock solid!
Under the fluorescents, the car definitely has a subtle violet hue. According to my salesman, three other people were interested in my car, the first Amethyst Graphite they've gotten in.
Honestly, it is very hard to tell the difference between the Amethyst and Platinum Graphites. They were delivering a PG at the same time as my car, and the other owner and I had to be told which car was which. Both cars were parked in the shade.
If I had to state a difference, the PG seems to have a slight greenish hue to the AG violet. Both are extremely subtle.
I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

woohooo!! Congrats!!! The Nav is daunting at first, but gets a lot easier to understand after the first week so don't freak out. Get your voice controls into the system and talking to the box is a heck of a lot easier than scrolling, trust me. Even if you don't remember what to say when you press the talk button a few of the more common commands pop up on the screen. The best Nav/Tech I have ever seen. iPod, Bluetooth all work flawlessly. Enjoy!

Thanks Houston...
I snapped a couple more, again, not hi-res because my wife owns the cyber-shot sony (realtor....weeatch) so I have my lone iPhone.
Other than that I am amazed at the bluetooth technology of the car. Now, don't get me wrong on this one, I'm not an Apple fanboy, well maybe a little lately because of the iPhone. I am a PC guy, I build web/database/email/dns/firewall servers, etc, all Microsoft is a Fortune 200 Advertising company surrounded by mac's... So, I'm the outcast if you will.
When I get in my G37 the screen automatically says: "Nick's iPhone is connected". From there, if I'm jamming out to 99 problems (song is built for this car...haha) for instance and a call comes in, the G37 automatically lowers JayZ to a just audible level and gives me 3 choices via either the iPhone or the touch-screen GPS display showing:
MY-CAR
or
iPhone
or
Speaker (on iPhone)
Pretty neat.
And when I plug my 8GB iPod nano into the Infiniti specific iPod cable neatly tucked inside the armrest, it pops an Infinit logo on the iPod screen and you're able to manually scroll through everything on the touchscreen inside the G37.
Most of you probably already know all these things but I'm basically writing this for the guy or gal who's out there drooling over this thing... GO OUT AND GET IT.
I have been driving a hot, but gorgeous Land Rover Defender 90 for almost 6 years and I have to tell you, it took this car to bring me out of the stone age.
I haven't even used the GPS thing aside from me accidentally hitting the wrong button and the chic's GPS coming on, then me having to shut it off. I'm in a fairly small town, Tallahassee, FL so I know the roads.
The car is just so sexy, I can't believe I spent that much but I honestly can't believe this car isn't sixty grand or so, it just has 'that look'. I always liked the G35 but not enough to pull the trigger. With this one, I didn't even think twice, I just shot.

Thanks-
Nick
