Fuel Pump Replacement

Anyone have information on pump(s) part number(s) if I want to replace the fuel pumps in my Q40? (Same as the G37)

I know that it's a saddle tank with two pumps - are they both the same? Getting SES light for resistor issue on the fuel pump and want to replace.

Any links to the products would be appreciated too!

I think there is a common misconception that these cars have TWO fuel pumps. They do not. They do, however, have TWO fuel (level) sending units- primary and secondary:

That said, for a 2015 Q40:
Fuel Pump p/n: 17040-1NC0C (Fuel Pump- Complete) ≈$350.
This should be a complete unit with the pump AND the primary sending unit and gets mounted in the passenger side of the fuel tank.

Sender Unit (Fuel Level/ Gauge- Secondary) p/n: 25060-1NC0C (Sender Unit- Secondary) ≈$110.
This gets mounted in the driver side of the fuel tank.

Prices as of 19 August 2022 from discountinfinitiparts.com

As always, VERIFY these part numbers against your car's VIN BEFORE you buy!

Do you have to drop the tank, or is there access under the rear seat?

Just pull up the rear seat cushion (bottom) and everything is right there. It is best to make sure the tank is at half or less to minimize fuel spill when removing the unit(s).

This also assumes that all of the necessary precautions have been put into place to reduce the risk of explosion, fire, personal injury, etc.

The description of the code may or may not be the problem.
What is the code?

When it comes to fuel gauge issues it generally boils down to 2 items: the sender or the M&A module.

Thank you for all of the information! I don't have the code handy, but I know it says that there is low voltage ---- I think on the sending unit. I will try to get the code tomorrow.

Here's the code:
P0462
Fuel level sensor "A" circuit low

Anyone know which part I might need to replace to fix the issue?

One way to test this code is to pull both unit and move the level sensors on your own. If both check out your issue might be elsewere.

Issue is resolved. Thank you to those who commented especially ILM-NC G37S! He helped me out via PM -- diagnosed the correct problem as the Unified Meter and AC Controller. Replaced this component and the gas gauge is working correctly and Service Engine Soon light is cleared from the dash.

Here are a few links that will help you if you have this issue.

1. Explanation of the issue:
2. Quick video showing how to open up the dash to get to the AMP module, which sits directly on top of the radio:

One last question - the airbag light is blinking, I know that there is a way to clear this - but I can't find it. Anyone have instructions on getting rid of this - I think that it is on because of the work that I did......

Usually it clears itself up after a few drive cycles. In the alternative, here is the method to reset the SRS light. You probably had the battery connected while you replaced the amp which will cause the SRS light to flash. Easy reset.

And congratulations on getting the issue resolved!
