New here with a concern

Hi I’m new to this forum and had a concern. I have 09 g37s I was driving today. I was making a right turn when all of a sudden the car locked. The steering wheel locked and all the lights came on. I turned it off and try turning it back on and it didn’t. I waited a little and finally it turned on but it was like a long start like it was lagging. I drove it for a while after that happened but it made me feel concerned. Maybe someone has had the same issue and could shed some light into this. Thank you

car died, didn't want to start, finally did.

DOes it run all good now?

Any check engine lights?

You should run it through an ODB2 reader. Cheap bluetooth ones and get the torque app.

I doubt the steering wheel locked. When you lose power (engine shuts off) while driving, the power steering is no longer powered. Makes it real hard to steer when it does that.

Guess that's one benefit of the newer cars' electric steering assist.

Power steering and the lock aren’t related (hydraulic vs mechanical actuator) but yeah these cars become hell to turn without power. (Ask me how I know...)
