Probably not, I think it would take time for the coolant to react with the materials.

I'll have to refer you to the fsm on the flushing. I've been doing drain/fill every few years - takes about 1 1/2 gals .

Alright yeah I’m just not going to drive it until Friday when I can try it myself or take it in to get it done. I just can’t believe an experienced shop would make such a simple mistake like this.

Just drain and refill with distilled water let it cycle a few mins drain refill again with distilled water run again. Then fill with either Nissan or Toyota long life fluid and a bottle of purple ice. I use BMW fluid bc I have it sitting around and its concentrated so you mix out ratio.

^^I always wondered, using the above method, how do you ensure 50/50 or 70/30 mix? How do you know how much coolant is left in the engine after a drain....

You drain from rad and block that gets almost all of it. I take concentrate and fill gallon water bottles that are half fu and fill it.

What's involved in draining the block? Freeze plug removal?

Yeah after you drain rad first. You can get a rad cap line and pressurize system to push push out and check for leaks too

Fwiw, the FSM has you burp it by running the car.

Draind and filled mine a few weeks ago. Just have to pop the driver side airbox out to access all the plugs (I think theres one by the firewall too? I can't remember) Takes an hour or so, I burped it on the refill.

Are the freeze plugs just pressed in? One time use? Never actually pulled freeze plugs.

As for filling, I use the uview tool to do so last time -
Amazon Amazon
. This makes refilling simple and no need to burp anything. Does require a compressor.

The shop is flushing it for free and putting the Nissan coolant in. The only Nissan coolant is usually blue correct?

I don't think freeze plugs are mentioned by name... Are you thinking air_relief plugs? I was, following both the FSM and this guide (https://www.myg37.com/forums/d-i-y-i...e-coolant.html).
Nissan eliminated the heater hose plug (theres no consistency as to when), and the FSM hadn't been changed so I skipped it and bled just through the radiator, and burped the system as described in the FSM. Took it to the track and had No heating/cooling problems, and reservoir level was stable. Glad I did cause it hadn't ever been changed, coolant was very dark and smelly.
