Brake Warning Light
Last week under heavy acceleration the brake warning light on the dash came on. It went off after a few seconds.
The next day I tried to repeat it- and it came on again. This time for several seconds.
My first thought was it's low of fluid and the level sensor was tripping the light. But looking at the reservoir I see no float or sensor. At least not one I recognize. Anyone else seen this before? Any ideas?

Just because you don't see a float or sensor doesn't mean it doesn't have one. Top off the fluid if it is low. Also if it is low then that likely means your pads are worn and probably about due for replacement,

Fluid isn't low. And even if it was I don't think it's a "slosh event" anyway. I have tossed it around and stopped pretty hard without seeing a brake light.

What fluid to use to top off the reservoir?
I would assume it has to be the same as the fluid that's already in the reservoir. How do I know what fluid is currently being used?
