77k miles - fluids

Hey all

Posting after a long time
I have a 2010 G37 sedan wity 78k miles. Most of the fluids are stock. Dealer
tells me that my Rear Diff fluid failed the dealer inspection and needs to be replaced.

I want to also replace the brake fluid . What other fluids do I need to replace on
a car of this age ? Should any of the fluids only be Infiniti branded or
will a generic do ?

I'm taking my car to a local mechanic

I'm at 72k miles and I have recently changed my transmission fluid as well. Did enhance the shifting by a lot. Looking to do my rear diff + brakes + coolant at 75k.

no sir. Close mechanic for the transmission and everything else was myself. Or will be myself at 75k. Maybe not the rear diff actually but coolant and brake I'll be doing.

If you have wrenching experience and a safe way to lift the vehicle, there are DIYs for all fluid changes (I believe) in the DIY folder

Dealer wont do drain and fill says it's a waste..

3x drain & fill is what you should look at, a single drain & fill is better than nothing but still leaves a majority of old fluid in the AT. Don't go w/ a flush, the pressure involved can dislodge sludge and debris that may get into the internals.
If that dealer doesn't want to do a drain & fill find another dealer, or try a Nissan shop.

Just ask them if they do the AT service as per the FSM (Factory Service Manual) this is the 3x drain & fill procedure. There is NO flush procedure detailed in the FSM.

not sure I would trust the dealer on that one. I replaced my rear diff fluid on my G35 at 100,000 miles and it looked brand new. Recently I checked the fluid as I am now at 260,000 miles still looks good, not sure it's worth it now, not sure how much longer I will keep the car.

Says who?

I looked at my maintenance schedule and even up to 120,000 is only says 'inspect' not replace.

Obviously if you care about your car and want to keep it for a while it should be changed but at 30,000?

I have 260,000 miles on my car and only changed it twice. No issues at all.

Nice. Was it the 7at trans, and do you know what fluid was used? Because i was going to use amsoil until Jtran Motorsports in Houston, Tx stated the transmissions in these cars require the oem fluid to function properly.

If i were you, id replace the fluids myself. Can't really trust random shops these days. You never know what they're putting in there. Besides, the diff fluid is crazy easy to replace. Best to do it yourself, bro.

What fluid should I use for my diff, being that I have a G37s? I saw someone mention Motul 75w90. I have used Amsoil in the past.
