My mother backed into my car :(

When I visited I was parked in the driveway. She backed her car out of the garage and didn't see my car and hit 'er pretty bad.

I'm wondering what route to go on this.

We feel like going through insurance on either end is a bad idea because of the premium. And idk if I should go to a junk yard, get the part, and pay someone to install and paint it, or to go to an actual body shop and get a quote. I obviously want to make this the cheapest route possible so any and all suggestions are welcome.

If you can't tell from the picture it got bent pretty bad too.

Thanks for taking time to read this!

please don't cheap out. go through insurance and tell her to be more cognizant.
if she broke your arm you wouldn't be looking to cheap out would you?

How does she back out and not see your car?? Wasn't she looking while backing up? No one parking in the driveway is no excuse!

Been there. Except my car was parked directly behind my mom and she hit it pretty good. Bent the hood and all that. She was super tired going to work one morning after getting off very late and driving a Isuzu Trooper at the time (not great out back visibility). So I had grace. Lol

But yea, we went through insurance if I recall correctly.

Go to the junkyard and find yourself a black fender. Do not go with your insurance because it will raise her premium, unless you do not care about it then go with insurance

But yeah, it's not that bad of a hit - find a local junkyard for the part and have her pay for it - Simple.

2010-2013 are all the same, and the G is a pretty common car.

so you guys think getting one myself (hopefully in black so i dont have to pay for a repaint) is gonna be a cheaper route then going into a body shop and getting a quote? regardless im gonna have to pay someone to install it.

Doesn't hurt to bring you car in for an estimate, at most places it's free.

By the way you can install a fender yourself. Will take you some time but it's not that hard. Maybe find a DIY here or google? Youtube? But yes, you will be able to find the fender no problem. Have your mom pay for the install

One more thing - If you can't find a DIY and decide to install it yourself, please help other members by writing a DIY for it. It will be really appreciated.

Thanks
