Yea I wouldn't sweat it. Remember multiple weight oils like 5w30/10w30 are rated for both cold and hot temps. So the 10 designates the viscosity of the oil at cold start temps vs. the 30 which is viscosity of the oil at 100deg C.
If you're changing it out before the winter you shouldn't have any issues with the cold starts.
The slightly heavier viscosity oil will not be a problem unless you were to experience very cold weather...something that probably won't happen anytime soon at your location.
So I ran through the manual and it just has the weight listed.
So is it okay to use synthetic?
and if so
Does it still need to be changed at 3500mil?
while it depends on oil, filter, and driving habits; I don't think even conventional oil needs to be changed 3500 let alone synthetic. you can always find more info in the Oil subsection or look at Bob is the Oil Guy forums.

3500 mile change is a myth for most applications. Unless you track your car hard, or beat on her constantly, with a full synthetic you can routinely go 5000-7500 pretty easily. I'm going to run Redline full synthetic with my next oil change, and since I don't drive my G too hard, I'll go at least 6k.
