Limp mode, work order codes

Hey guys,
Have been experiencing a little trouble with my G37x 2009 recently. What happens is that while driving, the car goes randomly into "Safe mode" or limp mode. It wont rev over 2500 rpm. the wierd thing, no lights SES/CEL. So I brought it to the dealer, and they told me they couldnt do anything without codes. so i kept driving it. Late in december, i was driving, and the car flashed "slip" due to icy conditions, and all of a sudden VDC light went off, SES light, ... dash lit up solid! So I brought it back to the dealer and did these modifications or updates:
1- DE97AA Reprogram new moteurine control module
2- DE96AA Idle air volume learning procedure
3- JE99AA Reprogram A/T control unit

At the dealer they explained roughly what they did, but I was in a rush to leave and not sure I understood everything. I'm looking for a little insight as to what went down, and what I should look out for in the future. Also, I was wondering if I should just sell the car because going Limp on the highway everyother time I take the car out isnt what I call, Safe....

Thanks for your imput guys ,
Chris

Did the repair they performed not fix the issue? Is it continuing to occur after the repair?

So far so good, but i'm curious to know what they did and if its a dealer specific repair? The dealer spoke a lot about resets and relearns, just not quite sure exactly what was reset and relearned.

Thanks man

You could always call and ask them. They keep a record of what has been done to your car. Probably wouldn't be anything for them to look back and explain it to you.

Worth a shot

OBD-II Codes - The Infiniti G37 Information Resource

I don't see any DE or JE codes in that list.

I still think your best bet is to call the dealership and have them explain it to you. Just tell them why you didn't get the explanation the day ou picked up your car. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to go over your work order with you.

I'll help you out.

1st they reprogrammed your ECM (engine control module)
2nd they performed idle relearn as required everytime you re program your ECM.
And finally they reprogrammed your TCM(transmission control module)

I'm pretty sure they referred to a bulletin open for the same symptoms you were having with your car and the bulletin instructions were to perform those procedures. The codes are just Operation codes for warranty purposes only.

You should be fine now with the new updates.

Idle relearn? Yes it can be performed by yourself. But you can't reprogram any unit without our Consult software.
