Help Engine packaging for shipping
Engine packaging for shipping
Hey fellas,
What are some good practices/ways to package an engine for shipping by sea to make sure it arrives undamaged? It'll be sitting on a wooden crate that's for sure. Should I box it in wood and stuff it with foam?
Also, what engine parts should I cover apart from the throttle bodies? I'll be shipping the engine with the head installed so no intake or exhaust ports will be exposed.
Cheers,
Sam

^^ Agreed, Yes just strap it tight to a pallet and box around it and I would say you will do fine.
Im glad you found a buyer for it sam. Hopefully it frees up some funds to finish your project sooner! I know I can't wait to see the finished result

Thanks for the advice guys.
I couldn't fit any buyers for it locally so I will put it up on ebay and absorb some of the shipping cost. A friend of mine owns a shipping company so he'll give me a good deal to ship this by air. It should definitely free up more money for my project. Forged internals maybe?
