Looking for DIY for Spark Plugs
Looking for DIY for Spark Plugs
I've done a search of all forum sections, but have yet to find a DIY for changing the plugs on my (new to me) 08 G37S. I don't really have any maintenance history for the car, and it has over 100k miles.
I did the plugs on my 05 G35, but it looks a little more challenging on the 37 with the TBs in the way. I can figure it out as I go, but it's always better if some one has shared some experience with this job, and some of the quirks to watch out for. Anyone know of a DIY that I'm just not finding on here? Or at least have some experienced tips for me? Thanx

Damn, are you our first 100k'er?

You basically just need to take off the engine cover and the intakes to get to them.
I think direct linking to non-IB forums is a problem here but there is a DIY write-up on the nicoclub site.

Thanx Cruzmisl, I'll check over at Nicoclub
Yes, I just maybe one of the first over 100k, car was first registered in Nov 07, so that's 53 months for at least a 1,880 mi a month avg to get to 100k (my car has even more). Car is still going strong

The spark plugs in our Gs are iridium. They're SUPPOSED to last forever. Is it still a good idea to change them? Who knows. I would however change the coil packs that are connected to them.
The sparks plugs are pretty easy. You have to take out both throttle bodies and remove the engine cover.
Anyone replace their spark plugs yet? - 6MT.net Infiniti G35/G37/GTR Forums
That is for the G35. It is almost exactly the same expect we have two throttle bodies to take off not one.

Actually, I had a G35 before this 37, and you don't have to remove the TB on a 35. But you definitely have to remove them both on the 37. The plugs are probably fine and new ones won't really make any difference, but since my car has lots of miles and I have no maintenance history on it, I'm just going through doing all the scheduled maint that I can.
uh no, my boy Rudy has 130K miles on his ride. Nice try lolHere's his ride https://www.myg37.com/forums/picture...al-driven.html
