Lubrication Engineers vs. all takers
Lubrication Engineers vs. all takers
I tried to search for LE here and on BITOG, but with a company name like Lubrication Engineers, it is hard to get a good search. I used the 10w30 in my Chevy 350 ('vette)rebuild and it worked wonders back in '99/2000.
Given the boutique nature of the product, UOAs are relatively rare and the "generic" nature of their name doesn't help. Has anyone tried LE in a VVEL g? I noted that Cougarred posted on BITOG about it, but posts here about the safetykleen ecopower? Can you you give me the low down CR? It seems that you have tried some interesting oils in an environment that is close to mine.
Ironically, I live closer to LE HQ than the nearest distributor. No need to lecture me on the "anything is good for 3750 miles" and related. I have read it over and over. Pennzoil Ultra is also high on my list due to UOAs and you can't beat the availability from uncle Sam at the local Wally world.
I do like red oil, so LE is on the list....

LE 8130 (10W30) is a tremendous oil from every UOA I have seen. I'm a member of Terry Dyson's site, and while I can't disclose any particulars, LE 8130 has tested extremely well there.
I bought a case of it, and plan to use it in my G37 after break in. I'm using EcoPower 10W30 as my break in oil. It too has tested extremely well at Dyson's site. Unfortunately, EcoPower may no longer be available from SafetyKleen as a retail product.
In addition, I use LX-2300 gasoline treatment from LE every 1000 miles, and was pleased with the fuel dilution reading on my first UOA.

Thanks! I pretty much built the 350 with the LE 8130. It took a little longer to break in, but it is tight as a drum now. I am considering using the 5w30 version unless I see a good reason not to. Given lack of evidence around, I doubt I will find that. Since I have a 15k TSX lease, all my business travel will be in the Acura. This means that the G will be putting on much less mileage. It will be early spring before the first change and it will get changed at 6 mo. intervals thereafter, which should be in the 3-5k range.
How long until you change out the ecopower? We might be getting the LE UOAs at the same time. We can compare notes then.
