i recently bought a new G37s 2010. its at 700 miles right now. when should i change the oil? and what brand and kind of oil should i use?

I use Fram oil filters, but there's better ones out there.

Not sure, I've been using Synthetic since day one.

I would not recommend Mobil1. It has not done well in UOAs in our engines. I had used it at first, but after two less than stellar UOAs I switched to Pennzoil Ultra. It has performed much better.

For a filter I use Wix. The OEM filter is not much better than a Fram.

If you are going to change your oil every 3750 miles you might as well use a good Dino oil. They will hold up for that long and save you some money over the Synthetics.

 

I use Pennzoil Platinum with a Fram Toughguard filter and my UOAs have been great with 7K miles between oil changes. If I was going to the track, I'd use a higher quality filter though. Check out the Blackstone UOAs thread, you can make your own choice on which oil to use.
