Rattle at higher speeds, does not happen consistently

Okay. I have been going through the search looking for somebody that has the same thing as me. I have not been able to find a matching thread, so here I am.

I have a 09 G37xS. About 1K miles on it.

The noise seems to be coming from the passenger side. Almost in line with the seat belt adjuster, though I cant get an exact bead on it because I am driving. It only happens when I am driving on the bypass at high speeds, say around 65 miles per hour and up. The rattle is constant when it starts. It wont let up. I slow down, it seems to go away. I speed up, it is back. Giving gas or not does not seem to impact it.

It does not happen every time that I drive the car. Like on my way in to work, no problems. Very quite. Then on the way home. Rattle. It has happened on more than two occasions, but for two of them I specifically remember having the sunroof open prior to hitting the bypass (always close it once I get going) and also using the downshift paddle to enter the bypass (long curve so I like to have the extra rpms once I get out of it). Since I am still breaking the car in, the rpms never go over 4K.

I don't think that this is the weld problem that has been reported, since those seem to happen over bumps and at certain angles. If I am driving under that speed, no problems. Once I hit that speed, rattle. Again, it is not every time either.

Anybody else experience this? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks, Charlie.

I have had similiar noises. Each time it was the seat belt. I moved it a little and the noise was gone.

I played around with belt one time. I thought that it might have fixed it, but was not sure. Since I drove to work and then back home by myself, the belts (except for mine) never moved. I was starting to discount that as a problem. Also, since it only seems to start up at higher speeds (though the RPMS are not necessarily any higher), I thought it could be something else.

I have the same rattle issue. I thought it was the rear passenger seatbelt or car seat anchor plastic hook in the rear headrest. Drove me crazy at 65 +/- on the highway. Never able to isolate the sound.

i have a hollow sounding vibration noise from that area, not so much a rattle... when im at 40+ and accelerate. seems like its coming from the door or the armrest/handle.
