Another person planning on Pennzoil Ultra. Currently use Platinum but I'm excited about the new Ester content of the Ultra. Great choice in my opinion

The price must have recently gone down from that site, because I remember encountering the same site when I was searching for oil and pricing several places with shipping included. The best I found then was about 70 shipped.

Good Find, I usually just do a brand search on Google and do
some quick price comparisons for Redline. OGRacing, Summit,
and another place in Indiana are among the cheapest.
Some pay shipping, some don't. Some give case or gallon
discounts, some don't. Bottom line is anyone can get
Redline delivered to their door for about $8.50/quart if
they shop around.

They did need 5.2 quarts so they had to charge me $6-something for an additional quart. This was my third change at 10,000 miles - had standard oil in there previously.

But hey! For that price they vaccuum the car, check the tires, check battery, and top off the wiper fluid (with water...).

We'll see how it goes.
Good Info', I like Lightsout's idea of taking my own filter since
I'm a big PureOne fan. Although I don't blame you for watching
them like a hawk, I feel the same about anyplace. Some have
good mechanics, some don't. Some have good managers,
some don't. My opinion is that you can form a "comfort
factor" by how neat, clean and organized the place looks.
I don't have a problem looking the service manager in the
eye and asking them "if they'd let their lub'tech change the
oil in their car?" ...Then watch their face!....or just ask if the
lube technican is a certified mechanic or not.

I got a Nissan ester oil change for my G37 at the local Nissan dealer for less than that - and they did all the work (plus free coffee, muffins, and a car wash - which I won't let them do).

No. It is regular dino oil with ester additives.

FYI, Pennzoil recently answered several questions on http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/. They stated that Ultra does NOT contain any esters. They said in an earlier post that Ultra does contain certain organic friction modifiers that protect similarly to what Nissan calls for in their Ester oil.

I put Ultra in my G37 a couple of weeks ago and it seems to like it just fine.

Get a Redline 5W30. Very smooth/quiet idle.

I have tried Mobile 1/Mobile 1 EP/Pennzoil Platinum/Nissan Ester Oils.
Nothing is as smooth/quiet as Redline oil among those.

VOAs indicate base oils at least a semi-syn gp III....of course
proportions are proprietory. Definitey not "regular dino"
