I got the picture of this unknown device, what is it?
I got the car last month, (early March) and I drove about 2500 miles.
I have noticed a small rattle (rather a lose spring / chirping noise) whenever I drove on a bumpy road. I took the car to the dealer (original dealer I purchased through went under). They said they have found a small black device underneath the car that was tied with a zip-tie. They asked me whether if I have bought the lo jack and I told them no because I didn't. They don't know what this device is. I am sure they have seen plenty of lojack so they would have told me that this small black box is a lojack but they couldn't figure it out (or they don't want to figure it out, they are not obligated to).
It can be seen when you reach underneath drivers seat..
Does anyone know what this is?
I took the picture, I hope this helps
Here it is,
This device is underneath the wheel, so I had to crouch down and shove the camera inside. You are looking at the picture that is directly pointing up towards to the wheel from the bottom.

I've been told that the zip tie doesn't even belong there.

hmm..thats strange. I reuploaded for you, so ppl can see it w/ out clicking.
The white zip tie, w/ the 3 bright colored wires seem to be connected by butt connectors, which is definitely not stock. Aftermarket alarm perhaps?

I got the car that had the infiniti sensor alarm so I expect that to be the sensor from infiniti not through the aftermarket. Would the dealer install the sensor that way and lie to the customer that it is the original manufacture alarm sensor? I was specifically looking for this option so I am a little worried now. This dealer went under (santa monica, california).
btw, it is underneath the wheel, not the drivers seat. (underneath the speedometer, etc)

You say the dealer instaled an alarm? I'm not sure that Inifiniti actually makes alarms themselves. The dealer may just install aftermarket alarms. Just like a LoJack is an aftermarket piece installed by a dealer sometimes.
Then again this may be somethign else. can you see any text on the item? Maybe get a flashlight and check what it says on it.
