Help car wont rev over 5k?

car wont rev over 5k?

so today iv desided to rev my engine wile it was in "PARK" and i couldnt get it to hit over 5k rpm! tried reving it wile its in neutral same thing wont go over 5k rpm! so i took the car for a spin wile its in tiptronic and its fine goes over 5k and redlines!
then wile i was driving 10-15mph i shifted to neutral and reved it wile the car is rolling and it hit 7k
is there a problem with my car or every 08 g37s coupe doesnt rev over 5k please help me!

this is not a problem. that is normal. you can bypass this fuel cut off by revving it to less than 5 k and before it drops too drastically re-rev it, it will go past 5 k. i think infiniti just thought there was no reason to rev in park or neutral so it won't let you... but you can bypass it easily.

omg thanx a lot man i just got my exhaust put on last week and i thought it would be cuz of that thanx a million!

the old software let you rev to whatever i believe, but then they had a software update and thats what it is...

You are correct, when I had the ECU update I was no longer able to do it as easy.
