Need some help...

so yesterday I had to drive from saskatoon to prince albert ( roughly an 1.5 hrs) and it was -43 C with the wind chill. I had to go because my girlfriends grandma passed away so I had to bring some stuff down and be there for her and her family. So im driving and am about half way when my tpms starts flickering then stays on... so i figure watever its cold as F out... then all of a sudden this new alert comes up... it says "time to rest," at this point im a lil freaked cuz its -43 out and im in the middle of no where on a single lane hwy... so i pull over and call roadside and I tell them this alert has come on and I read the owners manual but i was foggy on it because it read ---

14. “Time to rest” indicator
This indicator appears when the set “time to
rest” indicator activates. You can set the time
for up to 6 hours. (See “TRIP COMPUTER” later
in this section.)

They shoot me back with "WHAT?" "Sir we dont know wat this means" Then she went on to ask if I was driving into the wind and that my rad fluid may be turning into a slurpee and that the car needs to rest???

Is this chick off her rocker?????

ROFL, that's just a convenience alert to remind you to take a break from driving for too long. It has nothing to do with the car needing to rest.

Your TPMS, however, is another story. It's probably just too cold... I've never personally experienced -43°C, but I can imagine.

Ah, it was like -51 with windchill a couple of years ago when I lived in Winnipeg (now you see why I moved), and I had to bus it to places. Not fun!

I think they are talking Celcius....which wouldn't be quite so bad in Fahrenheit.

You guys all in Canada?

good call chief. its actually -45.4...i should pay more attention to units of measurement.

Whoever invented US standard is an idiot. Although 4th and centimeters sounds pretty lame, so I have to thank them for that.
