Key Fob/ Hard Key Reprogramming

Hi,

The dealer I purchased my G37 from in Cali, only gave me one key.. so I bought another used one from Ebay. The problem I have is that I will need another hard key to be cut because the hardkey that came with mine is already cut for that other car.

I asked my local infiniti dealer, and he is saying there are two types of hard keys, one with a chip 20$ and another /w a chip 100$? I'm pretty sure our 'chip' is in the Fob no? Do we need the physical key to start the car by putting it in the fob holder?

Is he thinking about another type of key?

Hi,
program the key fob we are looking at 1/2 hour labor @ $115 per hour. I would need all of your current keys and fobs and the extra one that you have. To cut a new hard key I need to have your current key in hand. One blank has a microchip in it and is about $100 and the other is just a blank that is about $20. Unfortunately I cannot tell until you come in. Give us a call and we can set up an appointment for you.
Based on the keys I checked here, the microchip is in the hard key itself. Regardless if you want the key fob programmed I do need the keys, remotes and car all here for anything to be done. If you can provide me with the full Vin # it would also be helpful so that I can get the key code to cut your new key as the us vehicle info is not as easily accessible for us. Thanks

yea.. buying a car from a different country... makes it easy for dealers to cut communication and not answer emails/phone calls... once you wire them the money.....

You should have gotten 2 Intelligent keys. Each one will have a CUT hard key inside. In addition, you should have one metal key ID tag.

Was it a new car, or a used car? If it was a used car, theres a chance that when they bought the car, it only had 1 key.
