30K maintenance

Well I just hit 30k today. What do I need done at 30k? I know the Infiniti website has a lot of listed when you do a premium maintenance. But I'm just looking for what is necessary. When I hit 30K on my mazdaspeed3 all I needed was an oil change and air filters.

^usually spark plugs, brake fluid, power steering fluid, oil, filter and inspection ie tire pressure/top all fluids/inspect brakes tires etc.....

dealer charges 500+...a shop can charge around 300.

overpriced, but worth it if you want the car to last.

Why do you need to have the 30k maintenance done? I have a 2003 sedan with over 83k miles and the only problem I have had is a sticking thermostat.

The manual only states to change all fluids and the drive belt. No spark plugs, I don't think.

I just performed a ATF and differential gear change last night and the gear oil was long over due. You know how there's a filler and a drain plug. Well that drain plug has about an in long magnet on it, and all these shaved metels with oil was stuck to it. It almsot seems like this should have been done earlier than 30K miles. I used Royal Blue 75-90 synthetic gear oil, hope that's ok.
As for the ATF, it wasn't bad at all.
Both procedures was a pain in the *** to fill back up though. Now I gotta do the radiator coolant change tomorrow.

That isnt that bad if you have had your car for 17 months like some of us have. Some people already have 40k.

Hmm... good to know that the diff gear oil was in real need of changing. I have 39.5K and haven't done it yet. I guess I know what my plans are this weekend. I know how to do it, but did you run into any problems or complications I should know about and be prepared for?

I run a lot less now that I did at first. Up until January I was putting almost 3K a month on her average. Now only about 1K/mo or so.

I've had mine for 21 months and have 37k miles. I'll be taking a 2.5 hr, each way, business trip tomorrow!

Here's a google maps of my route for this business trip... just take a look and you'll see why I drive my car so much.
