I hear ya man - I ripped up mine trying to take it of with pliers - it's freaking insane! It's still not off yet, so I'm getting a channel lock to get more grip on it.

I have not tried on this car yet. My 35 was a biotch and I destroyed it removing it. Used a rubber belt and vice grips.

Yea I took mine off, you need 2 vicegrips and some rubber tube. Put tube on the **** and the metal shifter underneath the boot and have someone hold the grip on the shifter and turn the grip on the ****. You won't feel it move much early and you'll be sweating by the time your done.

Its pretty crazy. My hands hurt a good few days after I was done. Its a 2 man job for sure. You need one person gripping and one person turning as hard as they can. It doesn't get easier either...its difficult all the way till it pops off.

so what your saying is, pop off the collar around the boot, put the vice grip on the shifter itself with a rubber piece so it wont spin obviousl right? then take the other vice grip and put it on the **** and twist it off??? did you put a towel or something so you did not damage the ****????

umm the throwout bearring issue, well mine was so bad, my tranny was whining, and when a throwout bearring gets so crappy after a while it makes the gears and everything go 2 crap on the tranny...so they are replacing the tranny...PERFECT!!! lol
