Question Time for an oil change, can i get a loaner?

Well I'm about 50 miles shy of my first oil change, but with school and work I dont know if i can find time to take it in and leave it. Will they give me a loaner car for the day if I'm only 18? and is there anything else i should ask them or have them do while i'm there?

Depends on the dealer... My dealer does as long as it's not on one of their anticipated busy days. Not sure about age restrictions.

Nope, you only get a loaner for issues that take over 3 or 4 hours I think. Oil changes take about a half an hour. And for the loaner you usually have to call a couple days in advance. They won't give you a loaner though for an oil change.

Thanks for the info, i guess it does really just depend on the Dealer. I guess i'll just have to find some time after school to run it in real quick

Normally if you schedule in advance they can plan for it and get you in and out in little time.

I would recommend calling them ahead of time and scheduling an appointment with them. Let them know that you have limited amount of time and they can get you in and out rather quick.

With my 35 I would always find the smallest little warantee item whenever I would go in for an oil change so I would qualify for a loaner. "My sunroof makes noise", "My clutch pedal is squeaky" etc.

Well... My sunroof does kind of make a weird squeeking noise when i open it after its been sitting in the sun for a while. And a couple weeks ago the whole navigation system and everything tripped out on me and i couldn't control the A/C or radio for like 5 min. then it automatically reset itself. Maybe i'll have them check this stuff out.

I dont know how it works where you are, it may be different, but here in NY they wont give you a loaner if you are under 21.
