humm i wonder if that would work.. ^^^ im not talking clear bra thou guys.. im talking the part right behind the kicks while getting into the car.. if u guys are talking about the same thing
where would i be able to buy sheets.?
where would i be able to buy sheets.?
+1kajillion for the clear bra stuff, I bought a cheap one on ebay (do a search or message me) for the bumper, 1/3 of hood and side mirrors for like 40 bucks (incl. shipping) and I put it on myself, I also bought 2 by 100 (2x100) feet of it to put on the entire car and some interior stuff like the light bright kick plates (don't ask why i call it that, I just do and i love it!) the inner door handles (so they don't get scratched and it adds a nice mirror effect,) and the washi aluminum on the door and the passager washi stip near the glove box. I didn't do the entire washi trim (console area) because it would be too complicated to make templates. Anyhow I am in the process of protective filming the ENTIRE exterior of the car, beleive it or not (call me crazy but yeah you def see the "spider swirls" with black paint, I noticed a few after the first wash.) So yeah I will put up a DIY after i finish the project, its taking a while but in my opinion its worth it, at least if you have a black car. If anyone has ever done this before I would love to hear the results!
Volant007,
Wow, I have never heard of anyone getting that crazy with protecting a car. This must be your one and only love. Please post some pic's of the job. Who did you buy the material from and what thickness for inside and which thickness for the outside?

Z, my girl wouldn't let me put a clear bra on her so i moved on to my next love, my G lol... um anyhow the thing is I wanted a black car and did some research and found out about the spider web looking swirl marks that are left after washing which can supposedly be buffed out or waxed out or w/e but im not into doing all that hard labor stuff in this so fla sun so i figured protecting the paint would be the next best thing. Anyhow the link is (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Infin...5193QQtcZphoto) It isn't the 3M brand, but for the price you can't really complain, and the stuff is supposed to last 5 years. It feels relatively thick and they sell the stuff in rolls of 2 feet by (XXX). I ordered 2 by 100 (http://stores.ebay.com/Xtremecity_Un...QQftidZ2QQtZkm) and it was a approx 200 bucks. anyway I will post pics as soon as I am done.
i think 20 feet would be more then enough.. or no? would it be enough for kick plates as well? im not stressing kick plates im just stressing the part behind the kicks.
wow if u just want to do that then don’t get 20 feet, I would say 5 feet the most. 2 x 5 which is 10 square feet, way more than you would need but you might like the look and try putting some over the washi trim and inner door handle, trust me it gives it a sweet super glossy look. I will post some pics when i get a chance.
I ended up at sawgrass, after working with 3 others. I was at 42k and some change out the door, when all done. I have everything minus rear steering, lighted kick plates and spoiler. I have everything else. So, how did I fair?
i was at 42,000 OTD with prem, navi, kick plates, and mud guards. Couldn't find one without a spoiler and didn't want to wait for one to be ordered so I "supposedly" got one shipped from Texas that had a spoiler. It also came with the extra trunk stuff so I guess thats cool. It came out to be around 43 and change. I think u got an awesome deal, who was ur sales guy and did u get the journey or sport? also have u noticed the infamous "ping" sound? I noticed it at about 200 miles, took it in day before yesterday and they fixed it. The axle need extra grease. Anyhow back to the paint protection, still taking some time but I will get some pics up.

Volant007,
I worked with Matt, and the sales manager, I paid 300 over invoice and I gave them the dealer fee. I just couldn't grind anymore cause I really wanted the car. I also got the trunk matt and cargo net. I actually like the car without the spoiler. I plan to buy the kicks off ebay as the electrical is there for them. I have the journey with the sport package. I would like to go to the meets. Where are they? I would also like to do some of the clear bra work. I drive the car 3 times a week and have a F250 4x4 as my daily driver. Something about Port St Lucie You have to have at least one truck in the driveway. I am going to order some stuff from the company you also purchase from. Is there any residue when you remove the clear bra. The 3m product supposedly leaves a film behind. But the product your using does not. I have now washed and waxed it 10 TIMES. I love the car

They have pretty much everything, from pre-cut pieces to rolls you cut yourself. You might want to check around on price though, I think I saw some on another site for a bit cheaper, like $12 a roll.
