Thanks for the helpful comments, my mom doesn't want me to get a manual car and, I want one but my dad doesn't care either way.

if ur an enthusiast man in the long run u will feel "something is missing from your driving experience" if u get Auto...The power will keep u happy for a year or 2 but then you will feel like the car just isn't bonding with u to the next level. When I got my first car - just a simple Accord Sedan in 2001 - I was happy with Auto ( I was also 17) but by 2004 when I learned more about cars and got into them more I was left even wishing that simple Accord was a manual. To me personally it makes every day of driving more fun and exciting - a drive in a manual is never mundane to me. Of course I have only driven M/T since late Sept when I got my G so give it a few years and 80 traffic jams later I am sure it will get a tad bit annoying. But I am looking forward to my first summer in the G this year and with the windows and moonroof open - system playing tunes and me shifting - nothing beats that feeling. Not a paddle shift in the world....!!

I had a question: Can you redline with the auto or does it cut off right at redline?

Yes, you can redline in the AT when you are in manual mode.

Your location tag says NYC, those jams are a bit different than say my area of the SF Bay (and I work nights, too). There's always gonna be a tradeoff of some sorts.

^Ya i am guju and being indian you know how hard it is to convince indian parents, yet i finally have, so I have to get this deal done by the 31st because that is when the offer ends...IP G37S 5AT, Premium, moonroof, Spoiler, Nav.

That is the goal...

Got a insurance quote today: $538 for 6 months. On dads' name.

Do you like the 6MT, and if u don't mind me asking, what's your age?

it comes down to personal likes and dislikes and also what other systems you have to compair it to. Personally i think the paddle system on the G is a complete piece of crap. It shift's super slow, has way to much lag between shifts. does not ingage the gear fast enough. In my opinion the 6mt is better in every way. Now my view on this system is because i came out of my E46 M3 with SMG-II which is in my opinion a far better system. especially since its a true sequential transmission and not a fakebox like the infiniti. I have also driven the ferrari F1 system, the lamborgini F1 box, BMW's SMG-III. and again are all light years ahead of the infiniti....

of course they're better, no one here will argue the point of it since sequential Manual transmissions still have a mechanical link wile paddle shifted or tiptronic transmissons are automatics that have been sport tuned to take advantage of the gears by shifting without the clutch. but for me, it's perfect for what I want. If Infiniti introduces a sequential manual gearbox in a G37R with a detuned VR38..that would b perfect
