Door Locks

Anyone know if it is possible to have the doors lock automatically when you put the car in gear and unlock when the car is turned off? I find it a little annoying to have to manually lock the doors once I'm in and unlock manually when I shut off.

A-men. I've been complaining about this since 2005...

I installed a module in my acura to do this. It was a pulse generator common in alarm systems installs.

check out http://www.kptechnologies.com/
They sell modules that do all sorts of cool things; including a module called "Auto Lock/Unlock". It does almost this. After the engine is started, it delays for 6 seconds and then locks the doors. When the engine is turned off, the doors are unlocked.

Now, they don't have alot of G37 specfics, but they have this for the G35. They need 'volunteers' to test these modules on the 37.

I asked the dealer about this with my G35 and G37. I was told that Infiniti has no plans to offer it.

I don't get it. Why do you need the doors locked while the car is moving? I personally always hated this feature in other cars.

Yeah I hope there's a solution for this soon. I always forget to lock the doors when I'm driving (the Viper did it automatically in my Accord). I'd hate to go through the same experience as DiamondG did.

Apparently I "cut him off" while he was trying to cut across 3 lanes of traffic and then when we pulled up to the light I refused to converse with him. HE broke me windows with his fists, crazy ****er, the middle of an intersection at 6pm on a Saturday, in Boca Raton!

My car was not damaged, other than the windows, but he went to jail with a bloody fist and I went home thanks to DOOR LOCK!
