Crap, I've gotten old. And Boring.

I don't miss the smoking though. Nasty habit. Actually met a really nice woman at an industry event and we were hitting it off until she went outside to smoke. HARD PASS.

I just hope my kid doesn't fall into the 'smoking/vaping is cool' trap.
I actually haven't drank since some time in January. I'm not opposed to drinking again, but I'm not going to drink just to drink.

Had a lot of industry events this spring, where drinking is a social activity, but yeah. Put it this way - I've got wine left from my honeymoon in 2007.

In southern NY we have an area called the Finger Lakes Region, and it is jam packed with wineries. Seriously, like over 100 wineries, no lie. So about twice a year we go winery hopping, and always come home with a case or three. The wine chest in our dining room is usually full. And when it gets down... time for another road trip! At any given time, there's almost always a bottle of white in the fridge, and a bottle of red on the counter. I'm partial to the Niagara grape for white, and Cabernet Franc for reds.

We also have a number of cannabis dispensaries in the area, as well as a handful of Native American reservations which were selling cannabis long before the state got their licensing act together.

I have no interest in moving, LOL.

We usually only do the winery trips when we're abroad, as neither of us are substantial wine drinkers enough to make it worth it. Having said that - when in Czechia we stayed at a winery AirBnB and it was awesome. Just the rolling hillside with vines, and views all the way to Austria.

One of my old interns from when I was at Pro Bono - her brother is a medical grower for the government, so plenty of regulations. He's my go-to for questions. Although at this age - I'll never smoke weed (or anything) again. I take an edible like a civilized man. Since non-farm bill stuff is still illegal in SC all the shops that carry that and related items are super sketchy with product that is either over the limit on THC or untested completely (so likely Dill Weed), so I mail order mine.

Almost sounds like California 😉

Finger Lakes are so nice. Almost bought an investment property there once. I want to say that place was a goto vacation spot for the Obamas. They frequented Palm Springs as well.

I love wine, and I adore Guinness Stout, but I almost never drink more than one glass because I absolutely hate the headache after the buzz.

Shall we compare liver function tests Just kidding of course. I do love Wine and beer (not a fan of hard liquor), although I need to exercise a ton to minimize the effects they have on my waistline (esp. Beer), a battle that I'm losing as I age.

It also doesn't help that I live in a city that put micro breweries on the map, and a state that sells better wine at 7-11 than I can buy at a nice restaurant when I go back east to visit family (may be related to where they live).

but oh how I long for getting up from this kinda of carnage on a Saturday night…simply doesn't exist in the west.

Man, I love all kinds of beer and feel that beer and wine both are in their renaissance. Until that is, someone offers me a Michelob Ultra. Do folks actually convince themselves it taste good?

If you need low carb, try Lagunitas Day Time. Back on topic :-)

Where is the down vote when you need it :-)

My wife feels the same. Married someone from MD, a place where we'd eat fish for breakfast and there are multiple seafood selections even on the kids menu.
