No Key Detected Issue
No Key Detected Issue
Just bought a infiniti g37x sedan and I get this weird issue with my keys
every now and then it stops detecting the keys, happened again today where i unlocked the car fine, but then it wouldnt detect the key and start the car
just kept saying no key detected
it did start once I put it in the key slot and that seems to fix the problem for a few weeks
battery on the key fob was replaced last time this happened so i dont know what else it could be

Congrats on the new machine. Sorry the key is giving you trouble.
The most likely culprit is that iKey battery. Make sure it's in the correct way around. And sometimes "new" batteries have been on the shelf too long so try another one from another source if possible. That "port" near the driver's left knee is meant to be a backup for when the fob battery fails. It's an independent system from the normal iKey "radio" operations and is simply scanning the chip embedded in the key.
Try a few things and let us know what you discover.
